    Fabulous work. Best maps with overlays I know of anywhere. It must be remembered that the references to Hill 51 are for locational purposes only. Hill 51 did not officially exist until the end of Union 2. P. Hilgartner related to me that 1st Mar Div. wanted a combat base in the Que Son Valley at the end of these operationsa and originally suggested something close to Hiep Duc. Upon recon in force for a location near Hiep Duc, Hilgartner said it would be difficult to defend a combat base in that area. Later he recommended the area that became known as Hill 51, which the Army renamed LZ Ross. Reply
